The Brass Bell Stole the Show

Friday afternoon in Hot Springs, and our team was elbow-deep in an Amazon returns box that turned out to be... mostly labels. Like, a lot of labels. Twenty-seven bin labeling items, to be exact. Beyond the label situation, we pulled nine clothing pieces — mixed lot, nothing that made anybody gasp — plus two jewelry items and a single phone case rounding out the back half of the box. Solid bin filler. Not going to pretend otherwise.

But then there was this thing. Tucked in near the bottom: an Unknown Brand Brass Decorative Bell with Stand and Hanging Canopy, retail-tagged at $24.99. It's the kind of item that has absolutely no business showing up in a box like this, and yet here we are. Heavy, warm-toned brass finish, a little stand to display it on, a canopy overhead like it's some kind of tiny ceremonial monument. We genuinely don't know what someone was decorating, but we respect the commitment.
