What We Found in an Amazon Mystery Box: Postum & More — April 30, 2026

Eighty-six items. Just over five hundred bucks in retail value. That's what landed on our table here in Hot Springs when we popped open this Amazon returns box on April 30th, and honestly? It was a steady, workmanlike haul — not a single jaw-dropper, but way more useful stuff than you'd expect.

The bulk of the box was 31 bin-labeling items and 16 pieces of jewelry, which makes up a lot of the count. Not the most glamorous pull. But those bin labels are genuinely useful for anyone organizing a pantry or garage, and the jewelry pieces at around five bucks each are exactly what our regulars dig through first on the floor.

The Postum Was the Surprise of the Day

Seriously — Postum Caffeine-Free Instant Original Flavor ($12.27 retail) showed up in this box, and our team got a little excited. It's a wheat-and-molasses hot drink that's been around forever, it's gluten-free, Kosher, and non-GMO, and it's genuinely hard to find in stores around here. That one's going to move fast.

Right behind it was the Optix 55 Gel Lens Cleaner Kit — two 8 oz bottles of alcohol-free, ammonia-free cleaner plus two microfiber cloths, retailing at $12. Safe on AR-coated lenses and screens. Practical, clean, useful. We like those.

We also pulled a USB Lightning Charger for iPhone ($9.99), a set of E-Senior 30-piece bronze wall-mounted coat hooks with 60 screws ($9.99 retail — great for an entryway or closet), and a pack of Swisspers Premium Cotton Rounds, 100 pads, chlorine-free and dermatologist tested.

Six clothing items rounded things out at about $2.50 each — those are always a grab-bag, but someone's going to be happy.

Overall this Amazon mystery box was a solid mid-tier pull. Nothing that made us gasp, everything that makes the bins worth digging. Come find it on the floor — the Postum especially won't last.
